Lenten Triodion and Reading List: Dear Brothers and Sisters: We have begun the march toward Great Lent and then toward Holy Pascha. As I suggested last year, here are links to the Lenten Triodion in both English and Russian.

If you prefer reading in Slavonic: https://st-sergius.org/services6S.html

Also, click here for a suggested reading list for Great Lent. Reading during Great Lent is an important part of slowing down; it's always a good practice to substitute reading a hard copy book for screen time, whether on a huge TV or on your mobile. In Christ, Fr. Gregory

Crime and Punishment (Преступление и наказание): Our Reading Society just finished our discussion on Dostoyevsky's famous novel from an Orthodox Christian point of view. Here is a link to an interesting perspective on the importance of the city of St. Petersburg in the novel: https://www.mappingpetersburg.org/site/?page_id=36
Also, here are some suggested movie/television specials adaptations of the book:
There are two notable Russian versions. One was filmed in 1969; it is quite good overall. Here it is with English subtitles
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP_JcI2eYmQ. The other is a miniseries of 2007. https://youtu.be/kxA5wAjXRDw?si=yekf1qu9iIl0NASe. This is in Russian; we have not found a subtitled version.

Here's the wiki on the British version that's available on Prime: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_and_Punishment_(2002_TV_series)

Attached you will find a robust, encyclopedic entry focusing on Dostoyevsky's Orthodox worldview.

Northwestern University Forum in Russian Philosophy, Literature, and Religious Thought:
Here is a link to a wonderful source of articles and papers, not just on Dostoyevsky, but on all aspects of Orthodoxy in the arts .https://sites.northwestern.edu/nurprt/
